Jeanne Mengis

In her research, she works with a process and practice theoretical perspective and has a particular interest in how communication and materiality (i.e. artefacts, space) come together in organizational phenomena, such as interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge work, organizational learning, and innovation. Her communicative vantage point privileges a relational account of organizations and analyses the multiple spatiotemporal and sociomaterial relationalities that make up organizations. Her projects are based empirically within creative industries, healthcare, and construction. For example, an ongoing research project on the Locarno Film Festival investigates the spatiotemporal dynamics in identity translation processes, as well as the notions of control and atmosphere within the organizational production of space.
