Burak is interested in computational social science methods. He uses social networks and NLP to examine digital trace data. His current research revolves around the converging and diverging patterns of COVID-19 disinformation networks across social media platforms. Before joining the Network Sciences Institute, Burak completed his master's degree in Data Science (from Konstanz University) with his thesis titled "The COVID-19 Infodemics on Turkish Twittersphere". He has been a data-scientists in the GMF-supported project that measured the elite public opinion on Turkish-American Relations.
